Our mission
We live in a world where information flows mainly in written format — contracts, academic books, technical reports, research articles. However, many people cannot access that information effectively: whether due to dyslexia, vision problems, lack of time, or simply because they prefer learning by listening.
ReaderPDF was created to change that. We believe that information should be accessible in any format, for anyone, at any time. With our tool, any PDF document can be converted into high-quality audio in a matter of seconds, directly from the browser and without installing anything.
We are a tool built for a global community, with special attention to the needs of university students, professionals, and people with reading difficulties all over the world.
Technology We Use
ReaderPDF is built with modern, open-source technologies and web standards to guarantee privacy, speed, and universal compatibility.
Web Speech API
Text-to-speech conversion uses the native browser API without sending data to external servers. It supports over 20 languages and dozens of voices.
Tesseract.js (OCR)
Open-source Optical Character Recognition engine. It processes scanned PDFs directly in the browser with automatic contrast enhancement.
PDF.js (Mozilla)
Official Mozilla library to read and parse PDF files in the browser. It supports native text extraction with maximum fidelity.
Google Gemini API
Google's AI engine powers the automatic summary feature, generating intelligent summaries and key points of any document.
Firebase (Google)
Google authentication, cloud PDF storage, and reading progress synchronization are handled by Firebase with full encryption.
PWA (Progressive Web App)
ReaderPDF is installable as a native app on iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS directly from the browser, bypassing app stores.
Our values
Privacy First
The content of your documents never leaves your browser. OCR and Text-to-Speech processing occurs locally. We only share minimal data when you log in.
Accessibility sin barreras
We design with people with dyslexia, vision problems, and reading difficulties in mind. ReaderPDF is an inclusion tool, not just a productivity one.
Free Forever
ReaderPDF's core functionality is and will remain free. The service is supported by non-intrusive Google AdSense advertising.
Multilingual and Multicultural
Support for Spanish, English, Portuguese, French, German, and more. Designed specifically for the global community.
